I had a marvelous time last night at the reception held for the Chatham Artist’s Guild Studio Tour which begins December 4th at 10am. This preview show at THE ARTCENTER, 300 E. Main St. Carrboro, NC will be up thru Nov 29th. Make sure to stop by to see my painting along with works by all 54 Tour artists on tour.
On display in Carrboro is a my watercolor It’s Only Natural which I painted in early 2020. I was walking in the woods a lot in early spring during the beginning of COVID QUARANTINING when I happened upon a meadow flourishing with Lizard Tails.
The edges of these fluffy drooped over weeds reminded me a little of the corona virus image we had been recently introduced too by the media. I noted these plants were left unchecked to multiply and began to realize viruses are very much like weeds. Left unchecked – it is only natural that the corona virus would flourish.
